“YOUR LIFE AND PURPOSE”

Before anything else, let me share to you a scenario given by Ms. Judy Gripon—Melitante,
author of the book “7 Ideas of Romancing Life.”

“Imagine riding a Ferris wheel rotating round and round, you getting used to this, whirling even
your head, finding enjoyment in its unceasing motion. Seeing at the top the panoramic view of the
scenery provides the unique sense of exhilaration of being one with the world. What if you’re trapped,
as the wheel suddenly stops with no one to turn to and no place to go? The feeling of helplessness,
anxiety, fear and a cocktail of emotions set in, groping for ways to disentangle from the maddening
situation, trying to find rescue, but none is coming.”

Well, reading and imagining this kind of scenario made me think that life is like riding a Ferris
wheel and got trapped— that behind of those beautiful scenery, happy memories and extravagant
experiences, there are some tragic things might happen. But at some point you have to experience it in
several possible ways going through both the good times and the bad, taste the sweet and the bitter;
see the light as well as the dark; and undergo summer and winter just the same. You will never know the
real meaning of happiness and the importance of life unless you encounter sadness and many
circumstances.

But, what’s the purpose of these things? Or maybe what is our purpose of being here in this
world? What is the purpose of having this so-called Ferris wheel life?

The book of “The Purpose Driven Life” says, the purpose of our life is far greater than our own
personal fulfillment, our peace of mind, or even our own happiness. It is far greater than our family, our
career, or even our wildest dreams and ambitions. If you want to know why you were placed on this
planet, you must begin with God. You were born by his purpose and for his purpose. It all starts with
God. So, never ever think that you are a useless being, or unworthy. Because Hecreated you and it is
because He had given you a purpose to live with faith in him. The Bible says, “It is God who directs the
lives of his creatures, everyone’s life is in his power.”

You were made by God and for God— and until you understand that, life will never make sense.
