Luck is a mysterious subject that brings a lot of arguments nowadays. Some people argue
that success is because of hard working and has nothing to do with luck, others disagree. In
my opinion I totally believe that luck play an important role in people’s lives for a lot of
reasons.
First, luck can lead to the success of people. For example, Columbus after long years of
hard work preparing for his trip to India while most people thought he was a crazy man. He
discovered America on his trip by chance. Can you imagine how lucky he was to discover
such a country. This was the reason of his success in my opinion and not all the years of
hard work and planning.
Second, being famous as an actor does not come because this person is the best actor or
because he/she attended a lot of acting classes. Really I think it comes from this director
who he met in the right time and right situation who put him in this small role in the movie,
then he became noticed. Can you imagine this actor even he was so talented but he didn’t
have the chance to meet this director.
Third, people may be looking for job opportunities in the advertisement magazine and send
a lot of resumes with their qualifications that probably is sufficient to make them accepted.
However, this employer might not hire you because he saw another resume before yours
which was sufficient enough for the job. You might be more qualified but your bad luck
put the hired person’s resume before yours. That’s why I say luck has a great impact on
people’s life.
One can’s deny the fact that hard working is crucial, as you can not succeed in your career
without being efficient and qualified in what you do. Hard working and having a lot of
knowledge and information will definitely help you succeed but I think wouldn’t put you
in the front row by itself.
To sum up, a person can be genius at what he does, may be hard worker or even an expert
with a lot of certificates and qualifications but unfortunately he is unlucky, he didn’t meet
that right person in the right time. I believe that luck and hard work should be hand in
hand.
