Dear Human Resource Manager, while doing my preceptorship in John C Lincoln, I was struck
with the professionalism quality in the ICU and I was motivated to apply for a position. After my
clinical experience throughout school, I felt the like the ICU was the place that I loved the most.
The high standard and intensity of care combined with the continual challenges of working with
critically ill patients grabbed and held my fascination and I enjoyed every shift that I was able to
work in the unit.

My schooling has not only equipped me with knowledge and comprehensive skills to be able to
think critically and be effective in a clinical setting, but it has also had a specific focus on
integrated aspects of treating people as whole systems with their body, mind, and spirit. I have
worked hard to hone my skills in emergency medicine and critical care, from my time as an EMT
until graduation and I look forward to growing.

In addition to being well educated and having a background in emergency medicine, I am a very
compassionate person who focuses on the wellbeing of patients first and foremost. I am
dedicated to working hard to bring the best quality care to patients.

I believe that a challenging environment such as the one at John C Lincoln will provide me an
excellent opportunity to best use and grow my skills as a registered nurse and that a
relationship with your company would be mutually beneficial. I look forward to hearing from
you and learning more about John C Lincoln and possibly being a part of your team.

Sincerely,

Strider Schmitz
