Olfactory nerve
- It’s a weird nerve
- V short nerve in the upper roof of nasal mucosa
- Pass through the brain
- Go to the olfactory bulb  olfactory tract
- Lateral striae and medial striae (contralateral)

2. Optic nerve

- Behind eyeball
- Along with 3,4,6
- Through optic canal, form optic chiasm  LGM (thalamus)
- Terminate at primary visual cortex

3. Oculomotor nerve (CN 3)


- Arise from brainstem (middle of crus cerebri)
- LPS, Superior rectus, Inferior rectus, Inferior oblique…)

4. Trochlear nerve (CN 4)


- Emerge posterior, below inferior colliculus
- Laterally to the front
- Superior oblique (SO4)

5. Abducens nerve (CN 6)


- Pontomedullary junction
- Lateral rectus (LR6)

6. Trigeminal nerve
- Has 2 roots, sensory and motor
- Sensory > motor
- Sensory forms trigeminal ganglion
- Supplies muscles of mastication
- *Must know the line of distribution
- Nasal, oral cavity, cheeks … banyak ah (confirm balik)
7. Facial nerve (CN 7)
- Emerge btw pons and medulla
- Enter internal acoustic meatus alongside…
- ____ process  parotid gland  5 branches
- “Muscles of facial expression”

8. Vestibulocochlear nerve (CN 8)


- Lateral to facial nerve
- Sensory comes from vestibular cochlea

9. Glossopharyngeal nerve (CN 9)


- Arise from posterolateral sulcus, behind olive
- Above CN 10
- Posterior 1/3 of tongue and general sensation  CN 9

10. Vagus nerve (CN 10)

11. Spinal accessory nerve (CN 11)


- Cranial root join with vagus
- Supplies SCM and trapezius

12. Hypoglossal nerve (CN 12)


- Rises between olive and pyramid
- Supply the tongue (extrinsic muscles)
