*What I Can Do*

The requirement for Internet Usage

Search
1. Browsers * A browser or web browser is a computer
application that is used to view web
pages. This allows you to access different
websites such as Facebook, Google, etc.
The most popularly used web browsers are
Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple
Safari, and Microsoft Edge Chromium. Apple
Safari exclusively runs on Apple
devices such as iPhones, MacBooks, and Ipads.
To open a web browser on a
desktop computer, simply double click the icon of
the application.
2. URL * URL is an acronym for Uniform Resource
Locator. This is also known as a web
address. This provides information on where the
webpage is exactly located. An
example of this is www.google.com. To access a
webpage, with a browser opened,
type the web address or URL on the address bar,
located on the top portion of the
web browser.
3. Search Engine * A Search Engine is a tool that searches the
internet for answers to the words or
keywords you type on the search bar. It uses the
exact words you type on the
search box and look for the answers based on
those words. For example, you
searched for the words, “Computer
Programming”.
4. Bookmark * A bookmark is a tool that is used to remember a
web address. Using a bookmark
can save you a lot of time. You can bookmark
your favorite recipe page online.
You don’t have to type its web address on the
address bar if you want to visit it
again. You can easily click on the bookmark
which is commonly seen on the top
portion of the web browser, just below the
address bar. This is available in all
types of web browsers.
5. Link * Hyperlink or link is a word, image, or button that
takes you to another webpage.
These links are usually in a different color than
the other texts on a webpage. The
link is usually in blue text. When you hover a
mouse on a link, it changes from a
cursor to a hand pointer.
