PROFESSIONAL DANCE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

DRESS CODE & SHOE REQUIREMENT

Proper dance attire and dance shoes are important. Each dance style has a
different “feeling” and therefore requires a different outfit. Street clothes are
restrictive and interfere with proper dance technique.

NOTE: PLEASE NO JEANS OR STREET CLOTHES IN CLASS UNLESS SPECIFIED.

FOR BALLET/ PLACEMENT CLASS


Girls-

 Black color leotard, pink/tan or black tights, black hot pants.


 Canvas or, leather ballet shoes (pink)- full or split sole.
 Hair pulled away from face (in bun or braid)

Boys –

 Solid White fitted T-shirt or Tank,


 Black tights or shorts
 Full length footed tights or socks, and black ballet shoes – full or split sole.

NOTE: It is very important to see complete body so that correction by the


teachers can be made and feedback can be given by the teacher.

JAZZ
Girls & Boys

 Jazz pants (fitted), jazz shorts, dance top or fitted top (sports bras, leotard or t-shirt),
jazz shoes, foot thongs or socks.
 Solid colored fitted T-shirt, jazz pants or shorts
 Jazz canvas /leather shoes (jazz sneakers are optional but not necessary
immediately).
 Hair pulled away from face (in bun or braid)

NOTE: It is Important to see the upper torso hips & ankles for proper feedback
from the teacher.
MODERN/ CONTEMPORARY
Girls & Boys
 Anything that is comfortable, loose & which does not restrict your
movement. Not too baggy, not too tight, but just right.
 Bare Feet, socks or foot thongs.

FUNK/URBAN HIP-HOP
Girls & Boys
 Street shoes, sneakers are allowed
 Clothes prescribed by the teacher

NOTE: For Special classes/ workshops/ lectures you are advised to have a
separate notepad or folder to keep the information. Please carry it daily.
