1.Present your chosen topic here.

Explain how it is usually presented/discussed in the

normal class. (Non-anonymous question)
1.A. Minerals are naturally occurring, inorganic solids of one or more elements
that have a definite chemical composition with an orderly internal arrangement of
atoms.
Mineral Characteristics:
 Crystal form
 Cleavage
 Fracture
 Hardness
 Color
 Luster and streak
A rock is a naturally occurring aggregate of minerals and/or other rock fragments.
Types of Rocks:
A. Igneous Rocks
B. Sedimentary Rocks
C. Metamorphic Rocks
The Rock Cycle is a concept used to explain how the three basic rock types are
related and how Earth processes, over geologic time, change a rock from one
type into another. Rock cycle links igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks
together.
1. B. The Rock and Minerals topic/lesson is usually presented or discussed in
traditional way in normal classroom where students learn by providing students
soft and hard copies about the topic and assess them by giving test that taken
with paper and pencil that are usually true/false, matching, or multiple choice.
These assessments are easy to grade, but only test isolated application, facts, or
memorized data at lower-level thinking skills. These tests strengthen the students’
ability to recall/recognize and comprehend content, but does not reveal the
students’ true progress of what they can do with the knowledge they acquired.
Only the students’ lower level of thinking skills, (knowledge and comprehension),
are tapped.
