Scope of Work The works consist of preparation of test site, pile head, arrangement of test equipment and procedure in conducting the load test. The test will be carried out using machine and steel counterweights as the kentledge. The arrangement of test equipment and the procedure of test will follow the conventional maintained load test. 2. Preparation Works The ground within 3m around the test pile will be leveled and compacted before the arrangement of equipment and kentledge. Steel plates will be placed id necessary. The head of the test pile will be formed to give a plane surface which is normal to the axis of the pile, and adequately strengthened to withstand the concentration application of load from the loading equipment. As the pile is cut to ground level during installation, the soil around the test pile will be removed to about 300mm below existing ground level to ensure that the load is not transmitted to the ground except through the pile. 3. Load Test Arrangement 3.1 Kentledge The machine and steel counterweights will be used as the kentledge. The total weight of machine and steel blocks will be at least 10% in excess of the test load. The machine will be moved to position centrally over the test pile and will be resting firmly on the sleepers. A strong universal I-beam will be sitting on stone blocks placed not less than 2m from the edge of the test pile. 3.2 Test Equipment The test load will be applied by means of a single acting hydraulic jack powered bay hand pump, and fitted with a load measuring device, or a pressure gauge. The gauge used is recently calibrated and will come with a calibration certificate for inspection by S.O. The hydraulic jack, hose, pump, coupling and other apparatus to be operated under hydraulic pressure are capable of withstanding a test pressure equivalent to 1.5 times the maximum test load without leakage. Settlement of the pile head will be measured by means of four dial gauges capable of reading to 0.01mm. The gauges are recently calibrated and the calibration certificates will be submitted before the commencement of test. An independent reference frame will be set up to permit movement of test pile to be measured. The supports for this frame will be located not closer than 1m from the test pile, and fixed rigidly to the ground. The entire measuring assembly will be protected against the rain, direct sunlight and other disturbances that might affect its reliability. The measurement of pile movement is made by four dial gauges mounted onto magnetic stands resting on a piece of steel plate measuring not less than 500mm x 500mm x 25mm thick, which is positioned between the pile head and the jack. The needles of these dial gauges, placed in diametrically opposite positions and are equidistance from the pile axis, will bear on glass surface attached on the reference frame. 4. Application of test load Load is applied to the test pile following the schedule attached as appendix. The manner reading are to be taken is also indicated. ‘CALCULATION FOR REQUIRED PRESSURE ( HYDRAULIC CYLINDER MODEL CLEG2006) (CYLINDER EFFECTIVE AREA =4122i22 TONS = 5350 51 ‘Load / Pressure Conversion and Test Procedure: ‘Test Load 185 Tonnes Toad Holding tne] are Remarks Comes) [PPS Gow) Fis cycle loading schedule (65 tomes) 0 0 ° Eater ae 1625 | 86935, iz | 3230_| 13875 T ding oe aka 215 misuse inervle for howe | LOAD a % Tae dios ame Ten rey Oa i - Resting be ken st 15 mime merase hour | UNLOAD Tas — - ‘andingw be taken a 15 mitme mservals for Lbowr | LOAD 555.00, z Tae ieiiow aie Tan ieee Oa 3216.25, 7 00 | 347730 7 a - Reading be ken 15 msm imereals for Lor | UNLOAD 0 0.007 T Reading be taken at 15 minute meres for our | LOAD jeeeiaoe [ox toerl Tes | 9597 0 Zz Tet hibe Gam Te ey 148 [_ 7918.00 7 i] sses0 | 1 | ‘Randingw be taken 215 mitme imtervls for hear | UNLOAD Toss = end Tet ac Plan Of Load Test Assembly
