Complications
Hernia complications depend on the circumstances experienced by the contents of the hernia.
The contents of the hernia can be choked by the hernia ring resulting in an incarcerated hernia
that causes simple intestinal obstruction symptoms. The hernia ring clamp will cause
impaired tissue perfusion of the hernia contents, so that edema occurs and if it continues, the
contents of the hernanakan necorsis. If perforation occurs; then dthere may be a local
abscess, fistula or peritonitis if there is contact with the abdominal cavity [ CITATION Lut19 \l
1057 ].
The most common complications that can occur after hernia surgery are hematomas,
including ecchymosis of the scrotal or penis; seroma; and wound infections. Chronic pain is
the most common long-term complication after hernia repair, occurring in 5% to 12% of
patients (LeBlanc KE, et al., 2013).

Prognosis
The prognosis depends on the general condition of the patient and the accuracy of
treatment. However, in general, inguinal hernias have a good prognosisk, because
postoperative recurrence is rare, except in recurrent hernias or large hernias that require the
use of prosthetic material. In this disease the most important thing is to prevent its
predisposing factors (Oetomo KS, 2013; Hammoud M. & Gerken J, 2020).
