Baking Challenge

Cake Pops
NEED:
- One cake (about a 9 by 9 sheet cake works)- you can either use our recipe from last
week’s baking challenge or use a boxed cake
- About one cup of icing- you can either use our recipe from last week’s baking challenge
or use premade icing
- Cake pop sticks or small dowels
- One cup of white chocolate (we used chocolate chips but any chocolate works)
- Double boiler (small pot of water with a bowl) or a microwave
- Sprinkles or decorations
INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Start by breaking your cake up into small pieces, and then crumble the pieces until the
cake is in a uniform crumb consistency.
2) Add in a cup of icing and incorporated into the cake crumbs until a uniform consistency
(sticky crumbs).
3) Portion out balls of your cake dough and roll in your hands to make uniform balls, place
on a parchment covered cookie sheet.
4) Melt a small amount of white chocolate (about 1/8th of a cup of the white chocolate), then
cover the end of your cake pop sticks with white chocolate and stick them into the cake
balls about halfway down.
5) Place your cake pops in the freezer until they are solid.
6) While you freeze your cake pops, you can melt the rest of your chocolate (a little less
than a cup for 8 cake pops) either in a double boiler or a microwave. BE CAREFUL to
not over melt or burn (double boiler is a better option but microwave works)!!
7) After your cake pops are solid, dunk them into the white chocolate and then spin off
excess chocolate.
8) While the chocolate is still tacky, add your desired decorations and then continue for the
other cake pops. ENJOY!!
