Summative Assessment Directions: Function Carousel

After learning about quadratic functions, the class should be able to do the following:
● Interpret functions.
● Interpret functions that arise in applications in terms of the context.
● Analyze functions using different representations.
● Build functions.
● Build a function that models a relationship between two quantities.
● Build new functions from existing functions.
We will be assessing each criterion by splitting the class into pairs and trios and have
these groups answer problems on VoiceThread slides. There will be 48 slides that any group can
respond to. I do not expect most or any groups to interact with all 48 slides. There are 48 slides
to assess each criterion with each function we learned in the Functions unit. Each group is to
solve or complete 6 of these 48 slides by commenting and interacting with them.
The class will be given 2 weeks to complete this activity as follows:
1. Each group will be assigned to start at a specific slide and answer or solve the question
posed.
a. Make sure all members comment and or annotate on the slide when presenting a
solution.
2. Once your group believes they have answered the posed question sufficiently, move on to
any slide of choice.
a. You will be awarded points based on the demonstration of the six criteria, make
sure to pick slides to respond to that will allow your group to show understanding.
b. Do NOT look at other group’s solutions. I have no way of monitoring this but I
will be able to tell if you are repeating someone else or actually understanding and
applying course material.
3. Continue repeating steps 1 and 2 until you have interacted with 6 slides
