Discuss the ethical requirements of reason and impartiality

Define first what is reason and impartiality

REASON- the power of mind to think and understand in logical way

IMPARTIALITY-treating all people and groups equally : not partial or biased

Ethical Reasoning – pertains to the rights or wrongs of a human condact each person has standards
that are defined by their personal values which come into play when the person faces certain dilemmar
or decision

Four Method of Ethical Reasoning

Virtues -analysing using the value and character

Utilitarian -the amount good can be produced by decision

Rights – right of a person must not cause any harm to other people and their rights

Justice – distributing benefits and burdens equitably and according to the accepted rule

Role of impartiality in ethics

It makes no discrimination as to nationality, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions. It


endeavours to relieve the suffering of individuals, being guided solely by their needs, and to give priority
to the most urgent cases of distress.
