SOC-100 Introduction to Sociology Dr. Muhammad Naveed Qaisar Spring Semester 2021 The basic objective of this course is to familiarize students with basic principles and approaches to sociology which will enable them to gain insight into behavior of people functioning in social groups. Moreover, it also aims to understand and better function within social institution and apply foundational concepts to interpret their own lived experiences. At the end of this course, students will be capable of applying the “sociological perspective” to their daily life experiences and to the social environment of which they are a part. It is expected that students will actively participate in class discussion and update with the required readings.
