Suggestions/ Comments

1. Consider rephrasing the title: “Map – Based Fire Detection and Broadcast Alarm System with
Emergency Path Generator”. You may consult further with your adviser and to the panel chair
regarding this title.
2. Improve the statement of the problem by enumerating the identified problems to be solved by the
capstone project.
3. Objectives must align with the identified problems enumerated under Statement of the Problem.
4. Consider including the testing and assessment of the system as one of the objectives of the study.
5. Replace the terms used of the conceptual framework and include the label of each block Input,
Process and Output, in that order. You may consider, for the input, the term Heat detector, Smoke
detector and Manual Pull Station. For the fire alarm, you may consider the term “Notification and
Appliance Circuit” or NAC
Input Process Output

6. Replace the term “System Connectivity” to “System Block Diagram”

7. Include the specific detectors to be used and replace the term “button” by the “Manual Pull Station”
8. Include other components within the block diagram, such as interfacing circuits, if necessary.

9. Include a floor plan lay – out for the proposed implementation of the system with locations of the
detectors, manual pull station, alarm bell/strobe light, and monitors. Use standard symbols based
on the Philippine Electronics Code.
10. Consider revising the “Design Constraints”. You may discuss the design considerations of your
project as far as:
 Economic
 Environmental, Sustainability
 Manufacturability, Regulatory
 Ethical, Health and Safety
 Social/Political
11. Include your proposed testing procedure, tables for the data gathered, and any evaluation
calculation formula for the gathered data (i.e. reliability, accuracy, etc.)
