English is a West Germanic language that originated from Anglo-Frisian dialects brought to Britain by

Anglo-Saxon migrants between the 5 th and 7th centuries AD. …The Late West Saxon dialect eventually
became dominant. With the development of informatization as well as globalization, most people all
over the world are communicating with the people of other regions in only one internationally
recognized language, that is, English. English, being the first world language, is said to be the first global
lingua franca. It is spread all over the world into almost all the fields such as science, engineering and
technology, medicine, trade and commerce, scientific research, education, tourism, internet, banking,
business, advertising, film industry, transportation, pharmacy and to name a few.

Most of the countries recognize English language as their national language and its about 67 countries to
adopt English language as their first language acquisition ,Also most of the countries where English
language speak and write but does not recognize as their national language and it is about 27 countries
that are following English language and speak well enough but still they are did not recognize it freely.

Well so far English language is used by 1.5 billion of people across the cosmose and less than 400 million
people speak English language as their first language acquisition that clear us that over 1 billion people
use it for their second language acquisition. Undoubtedly, English occupies a unique place as it is the
language that is so extensively used and so firmly established as a dominant global language. The
dominance of English has become like a snowball that is too big to prevent.

Today, an estimated 1.5 billion human beings speak to each other in English, whether as a native, second
or a foreign language.
English derives from the West Germanic branch of the lndo-European family of languages.
