I am thrilled to write in support of Laura Holdman. She began working at Willard
School in the fall 2018 and for the past three years she, in her role as Learning Assistant, has proved to be a consistent, professional and valued member of the school community. As her principal, I have daily interaction with her, observing her support of students, collaborating with classroom teachers and interacting with her colleagues.
Laura consistently impresses me as a responsible, energetic, empathetic and skilled member of staff who regularly gathers experiences from outside the school and incorporated these ideas, teaching strategies and insights in her work – specifically as it related to her knowledge and understanding of bias, diversity and social justice.
The experience working at Willard, inclusive of taking over as lead teacher for two weeks this year, has prepared her to make an immediate impact with students in her own classroom. Laura is superbly prepared for the next step in her career and I unreservedly endorse her.
