Five valuable lessons I learned in 2020

2020 has been one of the most difficult years that humanity has ever faced.

When quarantine started, we were surrounded by negativity, but, with time, we learned that, no
matter how much darkness we find ourselves in, if we work together, we can see the light.
During quarantine, I learned many things about my family, and especially about the world that
we live in.

I finally understood what enjoying the little things meant. Our mistakes are meant to teach us
what life should be about. Without little things and mistakes, the world would be a darker place.
I began to appreciate the underrated things life has to offer, like sunrises, spending time with my
family, or feeling the wind’s breeze in my hair.

My friends were there for me throughout this crazy adventure and they supported me when I
most needed it. At times, I felt overwhelmed by the atrocities that humanity had to face, but my
friends stood by me. For me, friends are more than people you have fun with. My friends are my
family.

I have also learned to be more open and direct because we only get to live once. We should all
live our lives the way we want to, and we should fight for our dreams, because, in times like
these, when we don’t know what the future will hold, we realize that life is too short. That is why
we should always find the courage to make our voices heard.
