Ladies and gentlemen, the Nobel prize for literature goes to the singer and poet-songwriter Bob Dylan!
This proves that the combination of music and poetry is a powerful means of communication.
The Nobel committee awarded Dylan the prize for creating new poetic expressions in American music.

Bob Dylan was born Robert Zimmerman. He changed his surname, influenced by the poet Dylan
Thomas, who is said to be Bob’s first poetic fascination. As a child, Dylan wrote poems. He taught
himself how to play the guitar, piano and harmonica. In his lyrics, he calls for a better world and tries
to understand the meaning of life.

Nobel prize winners are invited to Stockholm to attend a glamorous banquet and receive awards from
the King of Sweden. At this dinner, they are supposed to give speeches. Bob Dylan prepared his speech
but it was delivered by the US Ambassador to Sweden. He explained Dylan’s absence was because of
lack of time and overwork.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT

Gibraltar is a British overseas territory that borders Spain. This place has a long and rich history. Its name
dates back to the 8th century when the Moors invaded Spain. 4.1. ______ And so, the name Gibraltar
comes from two words: Gabar Tarik – Tarik’s mountain. In the 18th century, the British took over the
area and since then it has been their territory. That is why English is spoken by the inhabitants. Apart
from its interesting history, the main attraction of Gibraltar is monkeys. 4.2. ______ The monkeys are
not afraid of people and approach them, climb on them and often steal their property. Even though it is
forbidden, tourists feed the animals, which have become dependent on food from humans. 4.3. ______
This is contrary to the situation of monkeys in Africa, where they are at risk due to deforestation and
hunting. It is said that as long as monkeys exist on Gibraltar, the territory will remain under British
rule. 4.4. ______ One thing is certain, the place would not be the same without them.

I am very much into British history and

history and are cultural, economic and industrial centres. The
people of Birmingham compete to prove their city is better than
the capital. Why? They believe they have everything London
has, but that their city is not that crowded and all the sights are
in one place. The airport is more easily accessible, and prices
and the cost of living are lower. The city has a huge number of
restaurants with high quality cuisine and reasonable prices. One
more thing, check in advance to see if a room is available when
you want to visit.

When you think of the cities in the UK, London probably first
comes to mind. Londoners think there is no place like their
city. They highlight its past and value its constant development.
A person keen on architecture will notice modern buildings side
by side with ancient ones. You can easily find different standards
of accommodation as well as a variety of good and cheap cafés.
It’s possible to explore the city, not only on foot, but also by the
excellent public transport.

VISITING NIAGARA FALLS
