Sonnet 27 Sonnet 60 Sonnet 113

Weary with toil, I haste me to my bed, Like as the waves make towards the pebbled shore, Since I left you, mine eye is in my mind;
The dear repose for limbs with travel tired; So do our minutes hasten to their end; And that which governs me to go about
But then begins a journey in my head, Each changing place with that which goes before, Doth part his function and is partly blind,
To work my mind, when body's work's expired: In sequent toil all forwards do contend. Seems seeing, but effectually is out;
For then my thoughts, from far where I abide, Nativity, once in the main of light, For it no form delivers to the heart
Intend a zealous pilgrimage to thee, Crawls to maturity, wherewith being crown'd, Of bird of flower, or shape, which it doth latch:
And keep my drooping eyelids open wide, Crooked elipses 'gainst his glory fight, Of his quick objects hath the mind no part,
Looking on darkness which the blind do see And Time that gave doth now his gift confound. Nor his own vision holds what it doth catch:
Save that my soul's imaginary sight Time doth transfix the flourish set on youth For if it see the rudest or gentlest sight,
Presents thy shadow to my sightless view, And delves the parallels in beauty's brow, The most sweet favour or deformed'st creature,
Which, like a jewel hung in ghastly night, Feeds on the rarities of nature's truth, The mountain or the sea, the day or night,
Makes black night beauteous and her old face new. And nothing stands but for his scythe to mow: The crow or dove, it shapes them to your feature:
Lo! thus, by day my limbs, by night my mind, And yet to times in hope my verse shall stand, Incapable of more, replete with you,
For thee and for myself no quiet find. Praising thy worth, despite his cruel hand. My most true mind thus makes mine eye untrue.

2. Read it and be sure you understand the meaning.

3. Find or create an image (or group of images) that represents the meaning of the sonnet.
This must be more than simply finding an image of something mentioned in the sonnet. It must communicate the meaning of the
sonnet, which may not be directly stated. BE CREATIVE!

4. Generate a document that includes your image(s) AND a paragraph explaining your choices. Your paragraph must include a
clear topic sentence and details connecting the image and the sonnet; be sure you fully explain why you chose the image and why you
think it makes sense as a symbol for the sonnet.
