This information sheet answers the most important questions about your internship at Global
Commerce Media. Please read it carefully.

Who or what is Global Commerce Media?

Global Commerce Media is an online marketing platform focusing on content marketing,

search engine optimization and affiliate marketing. As a service to our customers we mainly
offer search engine optimization, content marketing and individual consulting. Our customers
are e-commerce brands, small and medium sized companies from all over the world, as well
as publishers and online media.

When can I start my internship?

How many hours per week do I have to be available?

You should at least be available for 20 hours per week to comply with all requirements and
tasks at hand. We recommend that you do not complete the internship alongside a full-time
job.

I want to do my mandatory internship at Global Commerce Media but need more than
(12 x 20 hours = 240 hours) 240 hours: Is that possible?

Yes, for a mandatory internship, we can assign extra tasks so that you get the number of
hours you need. Please see the information below about the conditions under which you can
do a mandatory internship.

Important: A change from part-time to full-time or vice versa is not possible during the
internship!

How long does the internship last?

The internship usually lasts 12 weeks.

Is it possible to work for more than 3 months?

No.

Can I arrange my time in the internship freely?

Basically, you can schedule your time freely. We work with a weekly deadline system. That
means that you will be given concrete tasks and you can plan them according to your own
schedule. So you don't have to "serve hours" with us.

Will I receive a certificate?

Yes, after successful completion of the internship you will receive an internship certificate.
On this certificate we will certify all the tasks you have done and your experience in the field
of Web Development, SEO & Content Marketing. Please note that a certificate will not be
issued if the internship is aborted.

How many people work for Global Commerce Media?

We have about 50 employees in Germany, plus many more freelancers & permanent
employees around the world. Our projects are not only in German-speaking countries, but
we also work internationally.

What does Global Commerce Media actually do?

We started out as a classic SEO agency that carried out operative measures such as search
engine optimization, content marketing, link building or other comparable services for clients.

In addition, we have started our own affiliate projects, i.e. our own websites with commerce
content and placed products from third-party providers such as Amazon or other shopping
portals. Meanwhile we have an extremely strong focus on marketing our own projects, in
addition we help established and still very young brands to bring their products to the
market.
Furthermore, we help manufacturers and retailers to launch their products in other countries
such as Spain, France, Italy and Latin America. For this purpose we take over the strategic
and operative marketing of these brands and use our international teams.

Remuneration and financing

The internship at Global Commerce Media is not remunerated. We have 5 internal

employees to supervise and coordinate the internship. With our internship we offer free
knowledge in the areas of search engine optimization and online marketing. Thus this
creates a win-win situation on both sides. Since you can also complete the internship in
theory alongside another job (e.g. working student position), a salary should not be your
main motivation. In addition, there are no costs involved for you.

How does an online internship work?

We communicate via the Slack messenger service and define your goals and tasks at the
beginning of each week. You will have a permanent contact person who will be your mentor
during your internship and will help you with everything. If you don't understand a task or if
there are problems, your mentor will answer all your questions and help you.

At the beginning of your internship we invite you to Slack and to our digital platform. Each
task is divided into a short theoretical part (What is a keyword research?) and a practical
video tutorial (we show you exactly how to do a KW research). You then transfer what you
just learned to your current task and upload the result of your work to the platform.

Your mentor will then look at it and give you positive / negative feedback. If you have
completed a task properly, you will be activated for the next task. We also offer zoom
question rounds and hangouts. In these, we answer your questions personally and give
further valuable tips on the topic of online marketing.

Do I need prior knowledge?

No, we teach you everything you need to know.

How do I communicate with Global Commerce Media?

Even though you are not bound to any fixed working hours and can theoretically work from
anywhere in the world, we still want you to feel like you are right there with us. There is an
internal messenger where you can communicate with other interns and the Global
Commerce Media team.

What are my specific tasks?

We will cover all topics around WordPress, Content Marketing and SEO.
Where is my workplace?

Wherever you want! Our team is located in all corners of the world (Germany, Austria, Latin
America, Spain, ...). Therefore you can work from everywhere.

How does the selection process work?

After we have reviewed your documents, we will contact you via email. We will then
schedule a WhatsApp interview to get to know each other. After a successful interview we
will send you the internship contract.

Do I need to know foreign languages?

You should have a perfect command of written and spoken Spanish. English skills are
sometimes required for research.

Is a working student position possible after the internship?

We usually clarify this individually from case to case. It mainly depends on which projects we
have in store for you in the future, but this possibility is definitely available. Many former
interns now work with us as part of a team.

Are internships at Global Commerce Media remunerated?

Internships at Global Commerce Media are generally not remunerated. We have had rather
negative experiences with existing practical online marketing knowledge. That's why we
want to give as many students as possible the opportunity to build up their knowledge in the
field of SEO and see ourselves as trainers.

This means that on the one hand we don't pay anything, but on the other hand we don't
charge anything for the training costs we incur.

Further questions and things you should consider

● If you are currently registered as unemployed, you have to be careful with the
number of weekly hours. The Unemployment Act has a limited number of hours per
week that you can work either unpaid or paid. If you exceed this number of hours,
you will not receive unemployment benefit.
● Please note that although the internship is theoretically feasible alongside other
internships, many interns have overestimated their abilities in the past. For many,
10-15 hours per week are not enough. We therefore recommend that you
concentrate fully on the internship. This will also give you the greatest learning curve.
You should not work full-time beside the internship!

Administration and HR

Since we have already received numerous "individual" inquiries from universities and former
interns in the past, we would like to clarify a few essential things for our cooperation here.
● We do not have a company stamp.
● Documents (for example internship reports or certificates) are sent to us
● only digitally signed, please check with the university in advance.
● Contracts are also exclusively signed by digital mail.
● We do not offer individual discussions with universities or employees of Universities.
● We do not make individual recommendations for future applications, we only confirm
in writing that the intern has worked with us.
● We send out internship certificates and references within 6 weeks after the end of the
internship. Unfortunately, exceptions are not possible.
