Report # 1 Directions

Dear Practicum II students,

The directions and content of Report #1 is as follows:

(1) Observation Context Description

The Target School setting, Summary of report#1 from Practicum I.

Cooperating Teacher(s), main description of the CT

Target Classes taught by the CT that you will have a chance to observe in.

(2) Short Interview with the CT

Conduct an interview with your Cooperating Teacher to inquire about her current teaching context,
online teaching, professional growth path and its impact on his/her classroom practices.

The interview must include at least 4 open-ended questions.

Sample Interview Questions: (You are requested to use the first two questions in your interview with
your mentor)

1. What do you consider the main differences between your pre-service training and in-service
training? How did both help you develop your profession as a teacher?
2. How would you describe the current online teaching experience? How was it in the first few
months and how it is different now?
3. Share an experience in which you used new training skills, ideas, or a method to adapt to a new
situation or improve an ongoing one. How did that improve your classroom practices?
4. Tell me about a successful teacher training program or conference which you attended? Why
would you consider it successful?
5. Describe an experience in which professional development helped you identify the educational
needs of your students and successfully developed a way to teach/train them.
6. Describe your professional growth plan for the upcoming years.

This section shouldn’t include the questions and answers; instead, you write down a comprehensive
summary with subtitles if you want. Then you write a reflection in your own words.

In the reflection section, you need to reflect on the experiences of your CT by answering the following
questions:

a) What do you consider good practices in your CT’s professional growth path? Why?

b) If you were in your CT’s shoes during the online covid-19 pandemic, would you follow the
same path? Why?

c) What would you do differently? Why?

d) What practices do you suggest to your CT regarding his/her professional growth plan? Why?

(3) Reading Lesson Plan

Reading Lesson Plan (Review)

Go back to your Practicum I Reading lesson plan which you’ve prepared in the previous
semester. Try to review it and make it more compact (summarized) trying to focus on the following
parts only (Objectives, strategies implemented, procedures, assessment). Make sure that your lesson
plan follows the standard format and the directions of your instructor.

In case you haven’t prepared one before, you have to prepare one in parallel to the directions of
the instructor and the resources on Google Classroom (Please be sure the instructor is very familiar with
hundreds of lesson plans available online). If you want to prepare a new lesson plan even if you have an
old one, feel free to do so.

Reading Lesson Plan (Peer feedback)

After you prepare your lesson plan, you have to send it to one of your peers in this course. S/he
has to provide you with a written feedback on your lesson plan based on their prior knowledge or the
directions of the instructor (Mr. Daoud).

The commentator has to try to answer the following two questions:

What is the most creative/effective part of this lesson plan that grabbed your attention?

What is the least effective part of this lesson plan in your opinion? How can this be modified or
replaced with what?

You include your peer feedback immediately after your lesson plan in a different color and clear heading
and then you submit your full report.
