The physical and chemical properties of water may be monitored by
performing a number of tests. Physical properties include temperature, turbidity and rate of flow. Turbidity is a measure of how murky (cloudy) the water is. Chemical monitoring involves testing for dissolved oxygen, pH, salts and nutrients such as phosphorous and nitrogen.
