© Solid-State Lighting Lampshade Solid-State Lighting refers to a type of lighting that uses light-emitting diodes (LEDs), organic light-emitting diode lights (OLEDs), or polymer light-emitting diodes (PLEDs), instead of traditional lighting sources that use an electrical filament or gas inside a gas bulb. A light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor that consist of a chip of semiconducting material treated to create a structure with two electron-charged materials. Gaseous Discharge Lamp Gaseous Discharge Lamps is electricity passing through a gas such that it causes the gas to arc. In nature, lightning is a gaseous discharge that produces an immense amount of visible light when electricity flows through the atmosphere. The bright flash produced by lightning is momentary and very intense, so it is not good for seeing. Fluorescent Lamps “ean oO Fluorescent Lamps was first introduced in 1937. It was considered the best, and most widely used type of lamp. Generally, it comes in varieties of sizes, wattages, colors, voltages and specific applications. Fluorescent lamp requires ballast in its circuit. The ballast is basically made of coil to limit the current in the circuit in which, if not controlled, will open the fuse or circuit breaker. JH. Likewise, its base is also made of different types and various designs. Incandescent Lamps are critically dependent on the wattage supply that even for a small fluctuation of the current voltage, its life , output, and efficiency is materially affected. + [fungsten-Halogen Lamps Tungsten-Halogen Lamp is popularly called Quartz Lamp. It is a special type of incandescent lamp. One advantage it has over the normal incandescent lamp is its ability to maintain a constant level of light output throughout its life. r
