RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This chapter embody the research method, sources of data, participants of the

study, data gathering procedure, and statistical treatment of data are techniques and

procedures to validate the study.

Research Design

The researchers use descriptive approach as research method. Descriptive

approach is used to depict the characteristics of a group of person and other

phenomenon or experience of the study. It is utilizing the image of existing events,

current conditions or attitudes with a certain focus on facts and condition of the subjects.

From the word, descriptive indicates the illustration of the image it defines as classifying

in an objective in nonjudgmental way or unbiased. In linguistics, it denotes to an

approach to language analysis that describes forms, structures and usage without

making value judgements. Descriptive approach provides essential facts into

happenings, behavior, practice, methods and procedures; and understanding about the

nature.

However, according to Calderon (2008), the purpose of the descriptive approach

in the research study is used for frequencies, average and other statistical calculations.

On the other hand, the best approach in fact – finding situation is to conduct a survey

investigation. The characteristics of this method were used a tool to determine if the

level of performance affects the micro businesses in Las Piñas City. In order to test the
hypothesis and answer question concerning the current status of the subject of the

study, descriptive method is used to collect data, gather information and observation.

Sources of Data

PRIMARY DATA. Primary data is attaining from the survey questionnaire which will be

distribute to the micro business owners in Las Piñas City.

SECONDARY DATA. Secondary data is access from other research, internet sites,

articles, and books that are related to the research study.

Participants of the Study

The participants of the study are the target 25 (twenty-five) micro business

owners within Pilar Village in Las Piñas City.
