MEMORANDUM OF CLARIFICATION
TO: Members, Philippine Institute of Environmental Planners (PIEP)
Applicants, Environmental Planning Licensure Exam
FROM: PIEP Board of Directors.
This refers to the Environmental Pi ion requirements
as provided for in RA 10587, also known as An Act Reguiating the Practice of
Environmental Planning.
Please be reminded that, as per Section 18 of RA 10587 and its Implementing
Rules and Regulations, “on-the-job training shall be undertaken under the
supervision of a registered and licensed environmental planner or the applicant's
immediate supervisor in an agency or organization acceptable to the Board,
which is engaged or involved in environmental planning functions or programs.”
The law clearly recognizes the capacity and authority of the applicant's
supervisor to vouch for his or her technical experience. For as long as the
Professional Regulatory Board of Environmental Planning recognizes them,
signatories to documents confirming on-the-job training i.e. Certificate of
Experience (PRC Form No. 104) can either be a licensed environmental planner
OR the applicant’s immediate supervisor in an agency engaged or involved in
environmental planning function or program. The agency should be acceptable
to the Board.
We request all PIEP members to help disseminate this information as soon as
possible, in the interest of fairness and for the benefit of applicants. Further, we
advise against any act that may lead applicants to believe that an EnP’s
signature is the only route towards exam eligibility, or worse, to obtain
Certification in exchange for monies.
For guidance.Thank you.
GONON-DE CASTRO.

Chair, Board of Environmental Planning
