EXERCISE THERAPY

This physiotherapy technique is the most commonly used physiotherapy technique especially
in chronic conditions. On its use, the type, frequency, intensity and duration of exercise are
determined on the basis of physical examination. Exercise therapy can be done in the
rehabilitation phase of various types of abnormalities such as stroke, joint replacement and
aging.

MANIPULATION

Various manipulation therapy techniques can be performed to produce passive movements.


This technique includes motion therapy and massage. Manipulation therapy is primarily
intended to reduce pain and increase joint flexibility.

THERMOTHERAPY

Thermotherapy is a therapy by using heat temperature is usually used in combination with


other physiotherapy modalities such as exercise and manual therapy. This therapy is effective
for reducing pain associated with muscle tension although it can also be used to treat different
types of pain. Heat in physiotherapy is used to improve skin blood flow by dilating blood
vessels that can increase oxygen supply and nutrients in the tissues. Heat also improves
muscle elasticity thereby reducing muscle stiffness.
