Guidelines for writing an Article

• Article must be in MS-Word format only.

• It should approx. in 1500-2000 words. However, the limit may exceed
if the topic requires a detailed discussion.
• Must attach a short summary in about 100 words along with your
article.
• Valid citations of case-laws referred to in the article should be given.
• The articles on current topics are always preferred. However, authors
may prefer to write on any research topic as well. Alternatively,
Taxmann’s editorial board can be consulted regarding selection of
the topic.

• The article must follow an analytical approach. Mere reproduction
of statutory provisions and texts from judgments would be
discouraged.
• The structure of case analysis should be as under:
▪ Introduction
▪ Synopsis of the Court’s ruling
▪ Analysis of the ruling. It should be critical one and
comprehensive in nature
▪ Whether this case has settled down any previous/prevailing
doubt
▪ Cite similar cases in which same or contrary decisions were
given
▪ State the cases if cited in the hearing would have made
judgment much different
▪ The topic discussed in the article should be suitably
concluded. If the topic includes a debatable issue, author
can conclude it with his/her opinion.

• The author should send his/her recent professional photograph in

good quality having high resolution with the article in the JPEG
format
• The article must be original in nature and should not be published
one or under consideration for publication elsewhere.
• The copyright of the published articles shall vest in the Taxmann.
• The right of publication or rejection of the article shall vest in the
editorial board and it would depend entirely on its standard and
relevance. The editorial board reserves the right to amend the article
to suit the requirement of the journal or website.
