We present a new algorithm for calculating the plausibility of verb arguments. This
has been mainly done previously considering only the verb as context for this
prediction. We propose using the verb and one argument for doing this prediction,
adding finer detail, but rising the data sparseness problem. We use a distributional
thesaurus for alleviating this problem.
The resulting argument plausibility database can be used for many tasks where it is
necessary to reconstruct a sentence; for example zero-pronoun, anaphora resolution,
or syntactic disambiguation tasks.
3. What is the most closely related work by others and how does this work differ?
We compare with the most closely related work which is language modeling. Our
work differs from such approach in terms of performance, and the viewpoint
considerations for solving this task. There are many other related works detailed in
the paper.
4. How can other researchers make use of the results of this work?
They can use our method in tasks such as Word Sense Disambiguation, Metaphora
recognition, semantic plausibility, Malapropism detection.
