Q.2 How well is Lim leading his start-up team? Analyse his leadership style in detail?

Although it is not clearly indicative but from the exhibits, we can conclude that Lim was
following a Democratic Leadership Style.
From the case we can see that during brainstorming sessions he would propose an idea and
would receive criticism from his team positively.
He had an experience of leading his teams from basketball to glory, so he knew the
importance of building a good team in a democratic way.
Even from the exhibits his leadership received an average score of 6.9, that is almost a 7 and
he is rightly striving to make it a perfect 10. At this point Lim should analyse the reasons why
he was reviewed as someone who lacked clear directional leadership. The company was in its
nascent stage and in start-ups in the initial years there is a lot that goes on. Therefore, Lim’s
leadership is not entirely to be questioned here.
At this point he doesn’t have any Strategic positions filled in his company, there is no CTO,
CMO and COO. The onus of decision making has fallen to his hands and in an year he has
made the cash flow positive and at the same time has been seeking funding as well. Hence it
must be noted that he has too much on his plate right now, that would be the first thing that
he must realize
