A Broadway producer who schupts little old ladies for investments.

A meek accountant who gets

the bombshell blonde. A cross dressing Broadway director and his common law assistant. A
neo-Nazi nitwit who writes a musical titled: Springtime for Hitler: A Gay Romp with Adolf and
Eva at Berteschgaten. This is your sign that Mel Brooks has come to Broadway.

The Producers based on Mel Brooks’ 1967 Academy Award winning screenplay starring Zero
Mostel and Gene Wilder follows the story of two men who are looking to produce Broadway’s
biggest flop in history in order to gain some profits. Set in 1954, we are ten years after World
War II and in New York City where the once critically acclaimed “King of Broadway” Max
Bialystock has lost his touch and money from producing frivolous musicals, including a musical
adaptation of William Shakespeare's “Hamlet” titled “Funny Boy”. He meets a meek accountant
named Leopold Bloom who creates a hypothesis of producing the worst flop in history to regain
some of the money. On a money hungry and overzealous hunt they find a musical titled,
“Springtime for Hitler” written by “not a member of the Nazi party”, directed by a flamboyant
director, and cast with a zany bunch of characters they produce one of the biggest hits
Broadway has seen, even with its opening number that celebrates the legacy of Adolph Hitler.
