Blended Learning and Online Learning Lesson Plan
The “hook” or Introduction:
This lesson will be introduced to students by having them first see an open ended question on their Near Pod lesson. This
questions should jumpstart their brains into thinking about what they previously know about Georgia and its 5 geographic
regions. This builds background and accesses previous student knowledge. This Near Pod lesson should be motivating as it
will take students through a fun and interactive lesson where they an grow and build on previous knowledge about their home
state.

Process:
Students will journey through this Near Pod lesson to accomplish their learning objective by identifying and comparing the 5
geographic regions of Georgia so they are able to properly learn and distinguish all 5 of the different regions. Students will
spend 20 to 25 minutes on their Near Pod lesson while the teacher does a walk through every 5 minutes to make sure that
students are staying on task and staying focused. The teacher will have the Near Pod teacher version on her computer
monitoring her students’ progress. She will also take notes on questions or activities that students are struggling with to be
able to revisit those concepts for all students to learn and grow from. The face to face version of this lesson will be the
teacher introducing the lesson on Near Pod and at the end of the lesson where the teacher will wrap up her day in class. The
assessment part of the lesson will also be face to face and teacher monitored.

Materials and Technology Use:

The Near Pod lesson and the teacher made graphic organizer is critical to this lesson as students will need to complete their
graphic organizers by completing the online lesson. These materials support student learning and UDL leaning by creating
multiple ways of interaction, visuals, and forms of content for all students to be able to thrive within this lesson. By having
multiple means of representation and engagement, this allows students of all learning types to engage with this lesson.
