1- Objectives

- To understand the definition of Creep

- Specify the conditions sensitive of Creep deformation
- To determine the regions in the creep curve
- To compute the steady state creep rate, Also, the rupture lifetime from the creep
curves

2- Introduction
To simplify the definition of Creep is high temperature deformation and is time
dependent. The creep rate influenced by three factors time, stress and temperature.
The Creep test occur in three regions on the curve primary Creep, secondary and
tertiary. the primary Creep occurs with the beginning of the test at varying rate and
the rate of change of strain decrease with time. The second stage when the
deformation become steady state and the strain increases in linear manner with
time. Finally, the tertiary region where the deformation increases rapidly until the
material fracture, at this time the point is called rapture time.

3- Experimental Procedure
In this experiment we used machine called Creep Measurement Apparatus. Firstly,
we measure the dimensions of the specimen then we put the specimen in the pins
of the machine, then we start the test on the computer after sealing the weight until
the sample break or the weight reach the base.
4- Results and discussion

Load (kg) Temp (K) Stress Creep rates Rupture time (min)
1 297 7.84 0.0006015 56
1.2 297 9.408 0.00744435 39
1.3 297 10.192 0.005725 15
1.4 297 10.976 0.0155 7

K=B/A
(B= 4 * 10^-12, n=9.2007 , A= 7.6 * 10^-22, K= 5222596319)

5- Conclusion
It was demonstrated that we computed the Creep rate for different masses 1 , 1.2 ,
1.3 , 1.4 Kg which are 0.0006015 , 0.00744435, 0.005725 , 0.0155 respectively,
and we compute their stress. We found the value of n approximately 9. In
conclusion, we found that the at low temperature the Creep test is slow also, the
distance between the base and the mass is short.
