Briefly discuss the processes involved within and across the components of the comprehensive

inclusive program for children with special needs.

1. Child Find - This is about reaching out for children who are identified as disable or has
special needs. The man of authority of this will coordinate with the barangay workers and
MSWD to get assistance for identifying the said children. After this, teachers will then make a
frequent visit to convince the parents to enroll their child to the program designed for them.

2. Assessment - In this component, the identified children are given tests or any activity that will
determine their strengths and weaknesses. The data gathered from the assessment will be
used for the program options.

3. Program Options - this happens after determining children's strengths and weaknesses. The
children will be assigned to an option which suits their potential and weaknesses.

4. Curriculum Modification - The process involved in modifying curriculum is determining the

children's needs, potentials, and weaknesses, including their prior knowledge and ways in which
they learn effectively. For instance, the teacher will do an assessment or diagnose the children
to gain more knowledge about them. The curriculum modification is widely dependent on the
data gathered.

5. Parental Involvement - In this component, parents will help the teacher to do the teaching
method, to guide their students on how to get things done in the classroom, and to observe the
performance of their child.
