The Effects of Hormonal Imbalance

Hormonal Imbalance happens when you have too little or too much of a certain hormone causing an
imbalance. The effects of it would depend on the type of hormone involved. What would happen if the
balance in your hormones suddenly shifted?

The first thing that you would notice is having mild headache and nausea. That is caused by the
deficiency of Thymosin in your body which puts you at risk of many infections. If you are lucky and
produced excessive Thymosin in your system. The number of T-cells in your body will rise and they will
take quicker to mature. The next thing you will notice is a change in your bones. If they are too stiff, you
have too much Calcitonin. This causes your bones to grow faster which in turn makes you taller.
However, if they are too soft, you have to little Calcitonin. This stunts your bone growth which means
you will grow up in an underdeveloped body.

All of this writing makes me hungry, do you want a donut? Before you chow down in that sugary treat,
you should remember that too little insulin in the blood increases your risk in Type 1 diabetes. But if you
have too much insulin, you might undergo hypoglycemia which causes irritability and dizziness. You
might not notice it immediately but your sexual characteristics will change depending on the influx of
your hormones. Too much testosterone can cause excessive hair growth, acne and in severe cases, it
may lead to infertility. Too much estrogen can cause heavy and frequent menstruation, vaginal dryness
and increased risk of breast and ovarian cancer. If you have too little of a sexual hormone, your sexual
characteristics may not develop.

The only thing we can do is to work hard that these will never happen. You can do it by eating a healthy
diet, exercising regularly, and taking care of your mental health. However, if you are currently
experiencing the symptoms mentioned above. Go to the doctor to determine your sickness.
