Yes/No questions and short answers:

- A: Did you go to University this morning?

- Yes, I did ( no contraction)
- No, I didn’t.

- A: Did she meet with friends last Saturday?

- Yes, she did. (no contraction)
- No, she didn’t.

- A: Did they get tired after work yesterday?

- Yes, they did. (no contraction)
- No, they didn’t.
 WH- questions:
We can add a WH-word to make information questions:
Examples:

- A: Where did you go last week? B: I went to the new restaurant.

- A: When did he see the movie? B: He saw it last week.
- A: How did she get home yesterday? B: She got home by bus.
- A: Why did they eat late? B: Because the food wasn’t ready.
