Way of Spider: the Patient Hunter Version L0‘Way oF SPIDER: THE PATIENT HUNTER
Spider spins its web and patiently lies in wait fr its prey to
stumble into it. Only once the prey has ensnared itself in the
web does the hunter spring into action, swiftly capturing
incapacitating, and feeding on it. The monks of the Way of
Spider revere the spider and its spirit as the most patient of
creatures, and they strive to model their lives after it by
demonstrating endless patience, practicing meticulous
upkeep of one's self and home, and perfecting the arts by
which they may bring swift end to any threats against them.
Just as Spider spins its web to exert its mastery over an
area, s0 (00 do Spider's monks learn to control the field of|
battle. The martial artist spins her own web by taking a
defensive stance with effortless ease, then waits patiently for
enemies to stumble into the perilous threads of her wits and
agility. Once someone dares to make a move against the
monk or her allies, Spider's teachings provide the monk with
the proper tools to bring ruin to her foes while they are at her
meres.

[At 3rd level, when you use the Patient Defense class feature,
‘you no longer need to spend a ki point to do so.

Also at 3rd level once you are in a defensive stance, you
weave a metaphorical web about yourself and enemies risk a
great deal when they attack you in close combat, especially if
they fil to strike you. As long as you are receiving the
benefits of the Dodge action, when an enemy within 5 feet of
‘you misses you with a melee weapon attack or fails a grapple
or shove attempt against you, you may spend 1 ki point to
impose one of the following effects on that creature:
+ [must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or be knocked
prone.
+ Icannot take reactions until the end of your next turn,
+ [must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or gain the
Poisoned condition until the end of your next tur.
+ Ttmust succeed on a Strength or Dexterity saving throw
{its choice) or be grappled by you, as long as itis no more
than one size larger than you and you have at least one
free hand,
‘To make use of Spider's Web Stance, you must be unarmed
or wielding only monk weapons and you may not be wielding
a shield nor wearing armor. You may use this feature a
‘umber of times each round equal to your Wisdom or
Dexterity modifier, whichever is lower (minimum of 1)
‘ReTALIATORY DEFENSE
‘At 6th level as long as you are receiving the benefits of the
Dodge action, when a creature within 5 feet of you attacks a
target other than you, misses you with a melee weapon,
attack, or fails a grapple or shove attempt against you, you
may spend your reaction to immedistely make a single melee
‘weapon attack against the attacker.
Ifyou successfull strike with this attack using an unarmed
strike of a monk weapon, you may also spend 1 ki point to
impose one of the effects [rom the Spider's Web Stance
feature on the target of your attack. This counts toward the
‘number of times you ean impose effects from Spider’s Web
‘Stance per round, and you may only impose a total of one
‘effect per each missed attack or failed grapple(shove.
Additionally, you may not apply Spider’s Web Stance effects
lo this attack if you are also using the Stunning Strike feature
fon this attack.

[At [1th level when you strike an enemy within § fect of you
‘with a monk weapon that inflicts piercing damage or with an
unarmed strike, you may spend 2 ki points to gain temporary.
hit points equal to your monk level You may not use this
feature on an attack if you are also using the Stunning Strike
feature on that attack. You may use this feature once. You
regain all uses of this feature when you finish a short or long
Additionally you have advantage on melee weapon attacks
against targets grappled by you
Aspgcr oF SPIDER
‘At 17th level. you gain additional abilities as you come to fully
understand the intricate mysteries of the spider
+ Asan action, you may spend 3 ki points to cast Web or
‘Spider Climb without providing material components
+ Aslong as you are receiving the benefits of the Dodge
action, you gain Tremorsense in a 15 foot radius.
+ When you successfully impose the effects of your
‘Stunning Strike feature on a creature, you may spend an
‘additional 1 ki point to impose the Paralyzed condition
rather than Stunned Creatures immune to poison or stun
cannot be affected by this.
+ Once per turn, when you strike a creature with an
‘unarmed strike and are determining damage, you may add
poison damage equal to your Wisdom modifier
