I write this letter to you regarding the opening of a cashier position at your café. I heard about this opening
through a friend that visits regularly.

Although I do not have any proper employment behind a register, I can assure that I have math skills required for
the job. My mother works in retail and I have assisted her behind the counter when she was short in staff. I do
have experience with cash exchange, and that experience will be beneficial in learning any other different
registering systems, which I am capable of doing quickly. Every year that I have taken a math class, I have passed
