Ans. List of drugs banned drug by DGDA and their drugs is given below:
1. Ranitidine: DGDA took the decision suspecting that Ranitidine, the acid reflux drug,
contains a cancer-causing impurity.
2. Paracetamol 500mg+DL Methionine 100mg: Those drugs are treating for common fever
and pain. Too much methionine can cause brain damage and death. Methionine can
increase blood levels of homocysteine, a chemical that may cause heart disease.
Methionine might also promote the growth of some tumors.
3. Pioglitazone and Rosiglitazone: These drugs are antidiabetic drug. Pioglitazone increases
the risk of bladder cancer, heart failure and eye problems. those drugs cause “fluid retention
and subsequently increase chance of cardiac failure”.
