The reason that attracts more visitors to the
Sanctuary is the miraculous image of the
Virgin. Our Lady of Las Lajas is named like
that, precisely because of the appearance of
her effigy on one of the rocks. According to
legend, the apparition arose in the 18th
century, in a slab of the Guáitara river canyon.
As in the case of the Virgin of Guadalupe, the
image appeared to the locals and performed
miracles. This angel represents the vital liquid,
one of the most important elements in life, it is
also said that the water that comes out of its
container comes from a spring that flows at the
foot of the image of the Virgen de las Lajas.

vacation.

We walked through the grass town, smoked to
the mall and did some shopping.

We arrived at the place and they offered us to
go up to the cable car, because according to
them you could see all the spectacular
scenery. We did not hesitate and went to buy
the tickets that seemed expensive to me. $
20,000 each person. We got on and my
journey began. I started to shake with fright, I
had a strange sensation, as if the cable was
going to break. My relatives were worried to
see me so scared.
What was the result of that
fiasco/flop/nonevent?
It was just a scare that did not happen to
adults, I did not enjoy the landscape but
everything went well at the end we reached the
desired destination.

Everything went well, it was just a fear attack

Tenía miedo de tomar el teleférico.
Me sentí terrible, pensé que me iba a caer.
Cerré los ojos y temblé de miedo. En el
