Mexico is a country with high sismisity, as it is located in the area called "The Belt of Fire",

which is known as the area with the greatest sismisity and where the largest earthquakes
occur.

Mexico is divided by 3 tectonic plates (the coconut plate, the Pacific plate and the North
American plate) and throughout its history several earthquakes have arisen due to
displacement and shocks between these plates

Several very strong earthquakes have occurred throughout history in Mexico, including
september 19, 1985 and September 19, 2017. Both were of the same date (month and day)
but different year and both were fast-paced and severely damaged

In 1985, the earthquake was 8.1 degrees on the Richter scale after 7 a.m. with an epicenter in
Michoacan, affecting the central, southern and western area of the country leaving more than
3000 people officially, but other organizations recorded more than 40,000 people dead, tens of
thousands injured and 90,0000 were left homeless. It was the most devastating earthquake in
the country.

(in 2017 the story would be repeated) first as a precedent, on September 7, 2017, there was an
earthquake, this being the highest record with an intensity of 8.6 degrees on the Richter scale.
This earthquake mainly affected areas near the epicenter (the epicenter was in Oaxaca) and
caused minor damage to areas of the center and west of the country. (This because, the
earthquake was strong, but it was oscillating)

Consequently, on September 19 of that same year, the 32nd anniversary of that devastating
earthquake of September 19, 1985 was celebrated. And precisely beyond 1pm there is again
an earthquake, 7.1 degrees on the Richter scale, (this time of lower intensity but with serious
damage, since it was trepidatory and leaving a greater number of deaths than it did days
before, on September 7, there were also a considerable number of people injured and also
causing material damage such as the fall of entire buildings , houses, schools, bridges, etc.)
