Incorporated in the year 1986, the company started operations in 1990 with a small milk
processing plant at Jeedipally in Medak district of Andhra Pradesh. CDPL has now grown into a
conglomerate of 7 modern milk processing plants in prime milk shed areas in Andhra Pradesh,
Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra, with a combined handling capacity of 6.60 lakh liters
per day. CDPL is a premier dairy in private sector in South India and is marketing complete

History

Beginning with "Jersey Creamline" milk in 1928, Jersey-specific branded products have
delivered high quality milk to consumers across the country. The butterfat, protein, calcium, and
nutrients found naturally in Jersey milk give a rich taste that enhances everything from fluid milk
to ice cream to cheese.

The "Jersey Creamline" program peaked in 1941 with 434 distributor-herds. The acceptance of
homogenization, eliminating the cream line, and wartime production subsidies led to the decline
of the program. The All-Jersey® program started in the 1950s, first by the Oregon Jersey Cattle
Club and then by the American Jersey Cattle Club. By 1958, All-Jersey® milk was being
marketed in 16 states. The challenge this time was the consolidation of the dairy industry and the
decline of small, independent processors.

Today, consumers are again looking for local products and more dairy producers are processing
their own milk into fresh products for the local market. When a consumer buys an All-
Jersey® product, they are supporting a local producer and are receiving the goodness of 100%

Awards (cheese)

The World Jersey Cheese Awards began in 2008 on the Isle of Jersey. It is the only breed-
specific dairy product competition in the world. The first contest attracted 100 entries from ten
different countries, including 31 from U.S. producers. Results from the first world contest can be

In 2009, the first North American Regional Jersey Cheese Awards were held in Syracuse, New
York. Producers from 15 states and Quebec entered 77 Jersey milk products and Ascutney
Mountain from Cobb Hill Cheese in Hartland, Vermont was named the Best Jersey Cheese. Full

The success of these first two contests extended to the second World Jersey Cheese Awards in
2010 (results here) and regional contests in 2011, held in North America and Oceania. The Best
Jersey Cheese in North America was Spring Brook Farm Tarentaise, made by the Farms for City
