Introduction-Sing to the dawn,Minfong Ho

-event that changes the life of Kwai is when he finally decided to sacrifice his chance of
going to the city school to his sister,Dawan. He made up his mind to sacrifice his chance
after the scuffle that happened in the marketplace.

Point 1-Kwai give up his dream to go to the city for his sister’s sake.

Ev.1-Kwai willing to keep the secret from his father about him was placed in second in the exam and
he can not go to the city instead of Dawan.

Ev.2-When the father ask the reason why he didn’t tell the truth, Kwai replied that Dawan wants to
go study in the city and asserted that it is not his right to go to the city.

Opinion-This event changes the life of Kwai because he bravely told his father that he didn’t want to
took away his sister’s chance eventhough his father got mad at him.

Point 2-Kwai was determined to help his sister Dawan to get the father’s approval.

Ev.1-When he makes up his mind to help Dawan, he sticks to his decision eventhough his father tried
to force him to take the scholarship.

Ev.2-He answered brilliantly that he never meant to spite his father but to show him that he didn’t
want his sister to give up her chance for him, when the father accused Kwai that he give up the
chance for someone else just to spite him.

Opinion-This event changes the life of Kwai because his enviousity turn into love and caring on
Dawan.

Point 3-Kwai argued to his father on behalf of Dawan.

Ev.1-Kwai tells his father that it is not his right for him to forbid Dawan.

Ev.2-When the father said that he has the power to not to let Dawan go to the city school, Kwai tells
him if the father doesn’t let his sister then Takchit will go instead of her.

Opinion-This event changes the life of Kwai because his thought of going to the city school instead
of Dawan when he decided sacrifice his chance.

Conclusion-Eventhough Kwai plays a negative role in this novel, this event has changed his life to be
a positive character. He was was willing to sacrifice his chance to Dawan after he regretted of his
actions in the marketplace. I will also change my negative character and won’t block their way so
that my siblings can prosper if it is their chance to go up in life.
