INTRODUCTION-Novel sing to the dawn

-Sibling rivalry is seen in the novel

POINT 1: Kwai didn’t congratulate Dawan when she got the scholarship to study
abroad
EVIDENCE 1: Kwai was so determined to get the scholarship to study abroad because
he wanted to bring changes to the village but got upset after teacher announced
Dawan as the winner
EVIDENCE 2: He didn’t even congratulate her and left the class as soon as possible
OPINION: This shows that he was jealous and upset about Dawan being the winner
and it shows siblings rivalry

POINT 2: Kwai persuaded Dawan to give up her opportunity to study in city school
during a conversation with Dawan on the sandy path at their house
EVIDENCE 1: Kwai didn’t want Dawan to go study in city school and to give up so that
he could go since he was second in rank.
EVIDENCE 2: Kwai tried to manipulate Dawan by saying that city school was
expensive and father couldn’t afford so that only one should go and that was him
OPINION: It shows that Kwai was so determined in snatching Dawan’s rights to study
in the city school by manipulating and confusing her which shows that Kwai is not
happy with Dawan winning the scholarship

POINT 3: Kwai argued that Dawan shouldn’t go to the city school at dinner time in
Dawan’s house
EVIDENCE 1: Kwai argued with his sister when she kept on wanting to study in the
city school
EVIDENCE 2: Kwai wanted his father to let him study in the city school instead
OPINION: Kwai was being so intolerant and stubborn and he wanted him to study in
city school although Dawan won the scholarship

CONCLUSION: Dawan and Kwai had so many conflicts because of wanting to study in
City school.Kwai was being unreasonable and stubborn. In my opinion, since Dawan
won the scholarship she had the rights to study in the city school. Kwai also should
be tolerant and be happy about his sister going to study in city school instead.
Siblings rivalry should be avoided to live a peaceful and happy life.

THAT YOU HAVE READ TO SUPPORT THIS STATEMENT.

- Has many courageous incidents

POINT 1: Dawan has the courage when she said she wanted to see the cruelty
happening in the city all by herself when she goes to the city school
EVIDENCE 1: Noi told Dawan that city life was miserable and they looked down on
them just because their clothes are dirty
EVIDENCE 2: Noi also said that the children from poor families sell cigarettes and
foreign candy at movie theater at night or they sell newspapers for food
OPINION: Dawan was being so courageous by saying that she wants to experience
the cruelty happening in the city even after Noi and Ghan warned her

POINT 2: Kwai was being courageous and stood up for his sister
EVIDENCE 1: Kwai didn’t tell his father about him being second in the rank because
he wanted his sister to study in the city school
EVIDENCE 2: Kwai persuaded his angry father to let Dawan study in the City school
since she came in first and did best in the whole village
OPINION: Kwai was courageous enough to go against his father and persuaded him
to let Dawan study in the city school even though father wanted him to study in the
city school instead

POINT 3: Dawan was courageous and was so determined to get into city school
EVIDENCE 1: Dawan went to see the monk to ask him to help her convince her father
to let her study in the city school but he refused
EVIDENCE 2: The monk even discouraged her by saying that a girl couldn’t bring any
change to the village and asked her to learn everything in the village instead
OPINION: After some consideration, Dawan didn’t give up and was still determined
to get into the city school by staying courageous and to claim her rights

CONCLUSION: Dawan and Kwai showed courageous to do the right thing.In my

opinion, we should always be courageous to do the right thing without fear of
anything
