She works well with students. Carries herself in a professional manner. Is extremely positive. She works well with her colleagues and does not bat an eye about working after hours promoting after school lessons, practices, informances, and non-audience concerts. She additionally works in tandem with core subject teachers to make student experiences beneficial. Miss Kenny's classroom environment is respectful to anyone who enters. Her students feel comfortable and safe and therefore are engaged in the processes and expectations of each lesson. The teacher gets to know every student and "knows their stories." | consider both of these things that you cannot teach, but attributes that are important to successful teaching. And Miss Kenny has both, and more! We discussed ways to improve ‘communication. Maybe it is increasing backpack mail through gamification of assignments for students (teacher is going to try a Spring Break Assignment Bingo Board that will have some focus on students sharing info with parents). Maybe it is positive phone calls home (leave a message). Send postcards that are easy to fill out with positive messages. Kids can even fill out their addresses for you.
