DEL AGUILA DIEGO

According to the text "Extreme Perception and animal intelligence", by T. Grandin and C.
Johnson, tells how some animals’ abilities make them apparently intelligent. The article is
about how some unique animals can perceive things that humans cannot and how they were
trained.

There are some dogs who have been trained for seizure response. Apparently, some of these
dogs developed the ability to alert a seizure before it happens. Ms. Stanley, whose dog
seems to have been trained before she got them, said "My dog can predict about 80 percent
of my seizures" which demonstrates their level of intelligence and cognitive abilities.

Then, Clever Hans, which is a German horse, became famous because of his ability to answer
math questions. However, Oskar Pfungst, who was a former psychologist, noticed that
Clever was paying attention to unconscious cues the questioners made when they asked. This
was proved putting the questioners out of view of the horse.

Having said that in the text, the authors share with us that both, seizure alert dogs and Hans,
give us signs of high intelligence since they were not trained for their tasks; but at the end of
the day, what we describe as human intelligence is basically what they have done: use their
abilities and skills to achieve remarkable goals.

Dear DIEGO:
You are using vocabulary from the course. This is good. It is very important to keep in mind
that a good thesis sentence should be clear and focused.
Keep trying hard,
