Colds

 cause by viruses such as rhinoviruses and corona viruses


 usually spread via coughing, sneezing, direct contact
 enters the body through mouth, nose or even neutral hand to hand contact with
someone has cold or by using shared object such as utensils, towels or
telephones
Common cold
 does not cause any harm but if left untreated or unchecked by physician or a
long-standing doubt with the common cold may lead to complications such as
otitis media (acute ear infection), sinusitis, strep throat, chronic bronchitis,
pneumonia
Patient present the following Sx:
 runny nose
 sneezing
 itchy throat
 watery eyes

Infection with influenza or flu


 Pt. experience nasal discharged, clear/watery accompanied with more than 38°C
& accompanied with fatigue, headache, muscle pain, body pains
Nasal discharge
 present ask if temp. 38°C
