THE BREMEN-GRONINGEN

ONLINE WORKSHOPS ON MULTIMODALITY

#BreGroMM

fridays, 1.00PM- 5.30PM GMT+1

online via Zoom

As a sequel to the Bremen Conference on Multimodality (that took place in

the years 2014-2019 at the University of Bremen, Germany), we are happy
to offer a new series of events that will take place online via Zoom.

The series is organized around various topics and themes of recent

multimodality research in order to discuss newest research questions, newly
developed methods and frameworks, and/or latest results from empirical work.
We invite speakers to present current work, explorative ideas and frameworks,
new proposals and cross-disciplinary initiatives, or simply ‘stuff’ they are
interested in. The underlying and guiding orientation for all talks should be
multimodality in its broadest sense with attention paid to close analysis
and/or essential philosophical/semiotic foundations - ideally linked together.
All artefact or performance types may be addressed and models can be
drawn from any disciplinary background.

Presentations will last for 30 minutes followed by 15-20 minutes of discussion

and a short break of 10 minutes.

The series is organized by

John Bateman, Multimodal Linguistics, University of Bremen and
Janina Wildfeuer, Multimodal Communication, University of Groningen

Registrants will receive information for joining the meeting

directly by email from Janina Wildfeuer: j.wildfeuer@rug.nl
