Unity and Union

• Unity  - Unity meaning oneness

• Union - Union meaning being united

There must be an internal unity before there can be a successful external union,

Why?

• A union works effectively only when those are parts of it agree internally.

• If we are not in unity, then our union will be forced and will just cause uniformity:

• Wearing the same clothes, doing the same things; yet not having the same mind

• In the Philippines, unity worked when peoples from all walks of life, came out in droves in
February 1986 to known their cry for freedom and democracy during the EDSA Revolution.

• As one, the Filipino people made known to the government and to the world their unity, fueled
by the internal ideas that they aspire for.

• As a result, it is now written in the book of history as one of the world’s largest and most
peaceful revolutions ever

• The strength of any union, is determined by the strength of its internal unity.

• The deeper people accept the principles and beliefs set upon them by God and their superiors,
the stronger their unity will be.

• People must remember to follow the basic rules of conscience and government, to follow
authority to be humble enough to see beyond their own needs and to be ready to work for and
along with other people.

Activity! Use the word “UNITY”, make a acrostic poem about the importance of unity in our
society.
