 ANALAYSING THE ADJUSMENT
PROCESS TO A NEW CULTURE FROM
ANIME “NON NON BIYORI SEASON 1
EPISODE 1”
 SYNOPSIS
This story takes place in the small village of Asahigaoka, a place
where the townspeople don't have much comfort for it. The
closest shops are a few miles away and one of the local schools
only consists of five students. Hotaru Ichijo, a fifth grader from
Tokyo, transfers to Asahigaoka Branch School and has to adjust
to rural life with her new friends.
 HONEYMOON PERIOD
Ichijou Hotaru, transfer student from Tokyo, begin her first day of
school with positive feeling. She expect to have some new friends
in her first day at school.

 CULTURE SHOCK
Ichijou Hotaru find some differences between her new environtment and her previous
environtment.
• The school is only have one class with 5 different grade of student.
• Local citizens do not lock their house.
• There is only a few of shop and there is no supermarket.
 ACCEPTANCE AND INTEGRATION
Ichijou Hotaru begin to feel comfort with her new environtment.
She has some new friends and play with them. She accept her
new life in the rural environtment
