Tiny Tot

Sizes: Newborn (Baby, Toddler, Child)

Dimensions: 13.5” (14.5”, 16”, 17”)


This is knit in garter stitch which is
stretchy. The hat will stretch to fit your
tot’s head. Cast on and off loosely.

Gauge in garter stitch:


22 sts. by 44 rows = 4 inches.

Size US6 (4mm) needles or


whatever you need to get gauge.

Yarn: DK weight, about 100 yards more


or less. I used Rowan Softyak DK in
Plateau (gray) and Savannah (gold).

Knit flat and seamed:


CO 38 (42, 46, 50)
Knit all rows (garter stitch) for 9” (10”, 11”,
12”)
Cast off, fold in half and sew side seams.
Attach two 1.25” pompoms, one to each
corner.

Knit in the round:


With circular needles CO 74 (80, 88, 94)
Knit garter stitch in the round (*knit one
round, purl one round*, repeat from *to*)
for 4.5” (5”, 5.5”, 6”) . Close top with 3
needle bind off and attach pompoms as
above.
